On a laptop, for them to connect to the WiFi, they will at least need to login to the Windows account to connect to WiFi. Computrace requires the OS to boot and go online. If you are relying on Computrace to recover your laptop, you are doing your computer security wrong. Software like Computrace tends to be completely useless IMHO.
